About the event
Rashtrapati Nilayam, located in the city of Secunderabad in the Indian state of Telangana, is a heritage building that served as the official residence of the President of India during his visits to the southern regions of the country. The building, which is now open to the public as a museum, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the region and the grandeur of the Presidential lifestyle.
The heritage walk at Rashtrapati Nilayam begins at the entrance of the building, where visitors are greeted by the grand architecture of the structure. The building is a blend of different architectural styles, with elements of Gothic, Indian, and European design.
As you enter the building, you will be taken on a journey through the various rooms, each one showcasing a different aspect of the Presidential lifestyle. The reception room, for example, is an opulent space with grand chandeliers and ornate furnishings, while the President's bedroom is a more intimate space, decorated with traditional Indian textiles and furnishings.
As you walk through the building, you will also get to see a collection of art and artifacts that were collected by the various Presidents who resided there. There is a collection of paintings, sculptures, and textiles from different regions of India, as well as a collection of gifts that were presented to the President by visiting dignitaries.
One of the highlights of the heritage walk is a visit to the Durbar Hall, which is a grand hall used for state occasions and official functions. This hall has a stunning decor with elegant chandeliers and beautiful frescoes on the ceiling and walls, it is also used for cultural events such as music and dance performances. The heritage walk ends with a visit to the Presidential gardens, which are beautifully landscaped with a variety of plants and flowers.
