About the event
A guided walk through one of Hyderabad's most historically layered neighbourhoods, where the rhythms of the holy month converge with centuries of Sufi presence and colonial-era urban history. Nampally holds within it a quietly extraordinary palimpsest, dargahs tucked behind bazaar lanes, the ghostly grandeur of the Exhibition Grounds, railway-era infrastructure, and a neighbourhood that has absorbed wave after wave of the city's transformation. During Ramzan, this landscape comes alive in ways that resist easy narration.
This evening walk moves through Nampally not as a food trail, but as an exploration of placemaking. Through storytelling and on-site observation, participants will engage with the Sufi traditions rooted here, the spatial memory encoded in its streets and shrines, and the way the holy month reshapes ordinary urban life into something luminous and communal.
An evening of reflection and dialogue, set within a neighbourhood that the city has long overlooked and rarely truly seen.
