About the event
Join The Deccan Archive for a guided tour of the Nizam’s Museum at Purani Haveli, exploring Hyderabad’s royal history through its objects, architecture and stories. Set within the historic palace complex, the museum offers a glimpse into the lives of the Nizams and the material culture of their court. Through its collection of gifts, mementoes and personal belongings, we will discuss royal patronage, craftsmanship and the ways Hyderabad represented itself during the Asaf Jahi period.
Looking closely at the objects on display and the palace that houses them, the tour connects the histories of its royal residents with the wider story of the city.
