About the event
A one-day heritage tour from Hyderabad to Warangal is a rewarding and enriching experience for travelers interested in exploring the cultural and historical treasures of the region. Warangal, located about 140 kilometers from Hyderabad, was the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty that ruled over the region from the 12th to the 14th centuries. The city is home to a number of ancient temples, forts, and other architectural landmarks that reflect its rich cultural and historical heritage.
The tour begins with a visit to the Ramappa Temple, a 12th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, and the Padmakshi Temple, a temple dedicated to the goddess Padmakshi. From there, we visit the Warangal Fort, a massive fortification built by the Kakatiyas that stands as a testament to the power and wealth of the dynasty. Other notable landmarks that we will be visiting include the Thousand Pillar Temple, a beautiful 11th-century temple known for its ornately carved pillars and intricate stone sculptures and the Khush Mahal, a Delhi sultanate structure.
The tour bus starts from Mehdipatnam and will be stopping at the following pick-up spots: Lakdikapul, Secunderabad East and Uppal. 2 and 4 wheeler parking available at Mehdipatnam. Breakfast and lunch included in the ticket fee. Limited slots.
